So for those don't know me, I have been on MUD as an active member for over 12 years and up to until 2 years ago I was just a normal active member. A layoff from my day job, sparked me to go on a big parts search expedition. LCH has been my side gig since then. I got fired from my first job because of LCH, then I got moved up to NoVa for another job and this has been my for the last 18 months.

Well life has a way throwing you a lot of signs each day from tons of LCH calls, texts and emails, stuff falling through the cracks, customers both happy and pissed, throw in family life, my normal job, a restoration shop stateside and in Colombia. You get worn down rather quick. Well to make a long story short LCH has caused me once again to be unemployed, but this time of my own choosing. The most important thing in life for me right now is to follow my passions.

Those passions are what started this whole ordeal to begin with. LCH has been moving along on its own without much pushing on my end and I owe it mainly to all my customers who have believed in me, I know it hasn't come without a lot of hiccups. But I owe it to this community for taking me where I am now. Not many are so lucky to do what they love.

So to all of you out there wishing you were doing what you love, get out and do it. Life is too short to just let it pass.

Ok enough of that, on to the build. A customer of mine out of Brooklyn NY, approached me looking for a rig for his own escape. He wants a rig where he can getaway from it all at any given moment.

Vehicle Parts

What better way to start my getting away from Corporate America with a build for a customer who wants the same. Almost like it was meant to be.Forums New posts Search forums. The Man Who Talks to Land Cruisers

I considered this option many times. However, two things kept me on the fence. The consensus says that these are the absolute best kits you can buy for our cruisers. The second thing that kept me on the dense was that I could find no evidence that Frank ripped anyone off.

Kits were eventually delivered, or funds returned as far as I know.Forums New posts Search forums. Media New media New comments Search media. Russia- Land-Cruiser. Calendar New events. Log in Register. Search titles only. Word Count:. Classifieds: Outdoor and Expedition Gear.

Sorry to see this. I had purchased a half tub 2nd hand from another mudder a few years ago. IT had originated from LCH. IT was junk, completely useless.

I sold to someone with some metal skills but even it exceeded what he could handle and I ended reimbursing him some funds to make it right. That's a ton of coin. For most on this forum, it isnt unknown that Land Cruiser Heaven is a reseller of FJ40 replacement body panels from Colombian manufacturers.Forums New posts Search forums.

Thread starter tstepp Start date Sep 4, Watchers After 3 months with no communication from the owners about my order I have demanded a refund.

This is the 2nd order I have placed with LCH.

I was advised by members here to give them a chance after my first order took 2 months. I did. I placed another order and wasted 3 months. Rigger Ramble Tamble Staff member. Joined May 18, Messages 5, Location Wyoming. I bought a leather kit from Frank. Everything went smooth. Yes, it took awhile to be delivered but the time frame was discussed and understood. There are dealerships and there are aftermarket parts companies, but no one, I'm told, knows parts the way Azeri does. The others in the group nodded.

His reputation as someone with a deep understanding of Land Cruiser parts and how they relate to one another is why we worked with Azeri in our own build. It was difficult to find a lot of the little hard parts we needed through ordinary channels. For example, if you're in search of a 6mm tapered shim and no one else knows what you're talking about, Azeri will know. If you need the crossmember from a truck of a different vintage, not only will he know how to source one, he just might pull one off of a truck sitting in his driveway and mail it to you he did that for us.

Part of Azeri's deep knowledge comes from the fact that he himself is a Land Cruiser nut. He owns and wrenches on his own trucks. But there's more to it than that. Azeri is a Land Cruiser philosopher of sorts. He had driven up I from Atlanta in a right-hand drive '85 BJ70, a tiny Japanese market Jeeplet powered by a torquey, slow-going 4-cylinder diesel motor.

Summer weather had done its work and Azeri looked hot. Interstate driving, he said, wasn't the point. This truck was meant for the slow crawl over logs and boulders.

You may not know "parts guys" personally, but most of the ones I've met were of the modern, "get your parts and get out" variety, their sole mission being to get rid of the customer as quickly as possible so that they could move on to and get rid of the next one. Azeri said he looked to the parts guys of yesteryear for his inspiration, striving to be someone who could look at a part and know not only what it did, but also its context within the greater mechanical organism.

But I'm getting ahead of myself. Sounds like a good place to start when diving into trying to understand something as complicated as a motor vehicle with more than 5, interrelated parts. While he was writing his dissertation, his academic adviser died suddenly of brain cancer, leaving Azeri in an odd lurch.

That was inand he found himself unsure of his direction. Meanwhile, he was also spending time in machine, fabrication and auto repair shops in and around Cleveland, Ohio, dabbling in wrench turning.

He'd already been working on his own Land Cruiser for a few years and said the hours, days and weeks spent busting his knuckles on old trucks began to take on new meaning. Then one night — Valentine's Day — a plow truck cut him off when he was driving along I Azeri swerved to avoid hitting it and his Land Cruiser rolled onto its side near the edge of the highway.

Cold and alone, he waited for a tow truck to rescue him and his busted truck. In the aftermath of the wreck, he decided—along with wanting to rebuild his Land Cruiser—that it was time to make a major change in his life. As Azeri's understanding of his new discipline grew, other opportunities presented themselves.

He was promoted to assistant parts manager at the dealership, then he moved to Salt Lake City to run a Land Cruiser shop. Eventually, family drew him to Atlanta, Ga.

Out of all of it—the numerical intricacies of Toyota's parts system, the reality of maintaining a machine that could withstand off-road punishment and the stunning natural scenery in which he was enveloped—Azeri developed a philosophy. Not many tend to think of parts and machines that way, but Azeri's unique outlook made him a sort of medicine man among Land Cruiser aficionados.

Deepening his understanding of what he already learned meant traveling to Japan into the Toyota factories where Land Cruisers are built. There, Azeri watched the care that went into the manufacturing process as each truck came together on the assembly line. That made a lasting impression on me. Land Cruiser folks love their trucks, and there's a reason for it. By Benjamin Preston January 2, Courtesy of Onur Azeri.Every great 80 Series needs quality leathers to have a quality appearance.

Quality of the seats are excellent and combined with the easy online purchase and resonable shipping timeframe. I would definitely order again for future projects rigs. These are amazing. Everytime I get in my 22 year old truck it feels and smells like a new car. The fit was excellent.

The quality of the leather exceeds factory. My only regret is not ordering the back seats. While they have no tears and minimal wear they look awful now after seeing the new front covers.

Installation is not bad if you are a decent shade tree. Just take your time. Very good quality overall. Installation was straight forward and fitment was very good. Zippers were too fragile and both for the backseat backrests broke.

One back seat armrest cover was missing from shipment.
