Place the key in the ignition and leave it in the beginning position, known as the off position. Make sure that you have all the fobs for this vehicle before continuing, as any fobs that are not reprogrammed at this time will not work with the vehicle until they are reprogrammed with the other fobs.
Lock and unlock the doors from the door lock master switch on the driver door. This activates the lock system. You will have ten minutes to complete the reprogramming from this point. If you do not successfully reprogram all the fobs before that time is up, you will need to cycle the locks again. You will need to use a rhythm here, making each forward and backward motion occur in roughly the same amount of time. On the seventh cycle, leave the key in the run position. The door locks should all cycle now, as if you pushed the lock and unlock button. Once this occurs, the lock system is in program mode. Push either the lock or unlock button on the first fob you wish to program.
The locks should respond to that command. Repeat this with each fob you have until all have been programmed. Turn the key back to the off position and then test each fob to make sure that they work the locks.
If one doesn't work, repeat the procedure.

I washed my key fob yesterday. Its has been on the radiator overnight but still wont work at all. I can use the key within the fob to manualy unlock and open the car but am not sure if you can start it. I cant find anything on the dash aside from the push button. Just hold the fob up to where you would normally insert the key if there was it should have a blanking plate on it.

Called local dealership and they can programme in another key but i need to get the car there fist. If you go to page 89 on this link if shows you what can be done with the keyless fob. You should have got 2 key fobs as already mentioned above. However if you only have one sounds like it is well goosed. But as you have nothing to loose at this point other than an expensive getting a new key programmed option you should try the following.
Leave the parts of the device for at least 24 hours or longer if you can at room temperature to dry out fully you can use a hairdrier to speed things up but dont hold it too close to the device just let the airflow blow out soem of the moisture at a reasonable distamce. After drying use a cotton bud or carefully a peice of cloth or tissue and gently clean all the battery contacts and connections between the 2 halves of the fob.

Seeing as I've had the car 4 years and not ever changed the battery in the fob, I just assumed it was dead so I changed the battery for another today, but it didn't do the trick.
My dad tested the battery I originally had in the fob and it was in fully working order, so it was not dead. I'm lazy and prefer locking the car with the remote buttons on my key rather than using the key hole. Edit: I have no clue about these types of things, but this is the only key I have for my car I decided against getting another, too expensive!

I unlocked the door with the key, then turned the key to the first position and off again about 6 times. Worked like a charm! I replaced the battery in the fob and still nothing.
I do not have a keyhole on the vehicle to be able to unlock and attempt reprogramming. We have a Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition. On Sunday our key fob quit. We replaced the batteryof course, first.
So we got the book out and "reprogrammed" the remote. It did everything it was supposed to, locked, unlocked. All that happy stuff. The remote didn't work. I just tried it again this morning, the 8 times turning the ignition, and it all did what it was supposed to again.
